Kim White, Assistant Principal

Kim White

Assistant Principal

I am so blessed to be a part of the rich culture and tradition here at DCMS. I love the uniqueness we have in our middle school, with only having 6th and 7th grade students, and I love the traditions that have followed as a result (gotcha tournaments, powder puff games, pep rally's, dress up days, etc). Our teachers have worked hard over the past few years to build a strong relationships with our students and to make learning real. With the implementation of iPads in every child's hands, learning in our school has risen to new heights, and we are blessed to teach our children skills that will help them in the 21st century work place. At the heart of our school, Dawson County Middle remains true to our focus of academic excellence, differentiation, and rigor. In short, I know firsthand how hard the staff works to ensure that every student is successful, and I look forward to helping the staff, students, and community to continue our exciting work, as I truly believe we are One Dawson.

I graduated from the University of North Georgia with a degree in Middle Grades Education, concentrating specifically in mathematics and social studies. I later received my Masters degree in Leadership from Kennesaw University, and my Educational Specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial in Curriculum and Instruction. This will be my fourth year as the assistant principal at Dawson County Middle School. Prior to moving here, I taught for eleven years in Forsyth County at Liberty Middle School. In addition to teaching, I coached and helped run the athletic program as the school's athletic director.
